These blocks can be mined and used by the player however they wish, revealing the original background. This block pallet stays the same throughout every race's ship. Note: As of 1.4.4 the mechanical, grey background shown in the upgrade GIFs below has been covered by a layer of Wall Panels, Ship Supports, and Metal Railings. The fully upgraded Ship sizes from greatest to smallest are: Floran > Avian > Novakid > Human > Glitch > Apex > Hylotl. As of 1.3, the planetary Tier of your ship is always 1. For example, merchant tenants were able to sell tier 7 or tier 8 random Weapons (normally tier 6 is the highest possible tier for random weapons). These licenses will allow the ship to be upgraded without the requirement of crew, but players must still provide upgrade modules to Penguin Pete at the shipyard.īefore 1.3, the upgrade level of the ship determined its planetary Tier which did affect Tenants spawned inside your ship. Then bar patrons will join your crew in exchange for a dubloon.Īlternatively, there are illicit ship licenses which can be purchased for pixels from the Penguin Bay. In order to recruit penguins the bar must be reopened by defeating the mini boss Dreadwing. Players can also recruit penguins as crew members from the Beakeasy bar beneath the outpost. The NPC type determines what role they'll assume on the players ship. These quests will earn favor with the quest-giver once completed, and they may ask to join your crew. To get crew members you have to do generated quests for NPCs throughout the universe - either in villages or summoned tenants. To upgrade your ship you will need crew members, each upgrade also increases the number of crew members which can be on the ship. These quests are given where he is stationed, just west of the outpost. After repairing the ship's thrusters and FTL drive, Penguin Pete, the shipyard captain at the outpost, will open quests to upgrade the size of the player's ship. To repair the ship engines, enabling flight to other systems, players must clear the Erchius Mining Facility mission. In addition to more space, larger ships can hold a larger number of crew members. These additional upgrades provide more space on the ship for players to place objects, as well as crafting stations, containers, and furniture. See our list of admin commands for more commands.A fully upgraded Apex shipAs the player progresses through the story of Starbound, they'll unlock additional upgrades to their starter ship. To toggle admin mode off, all you need to do is type /admin again. To use a command, toggle admin mode on an adminstrator account by typing /admin in your ingame console. This will toggle admin mode on (granting you access to admin commands). Starbound Guides Starbound Admin Commands List Now that you've become an admin on your GSK powered Starbound server, you'll have a plethora of commands at your disposal. On single player, and servers that do not have admin commands blocked for everyone, you can enable admin mode by entering /admin into the chat. Some servers have disabled access to admin commands for all users - on these servers, it is not possible to get access to admin commands without the admins of those servers explicitly granting you access. Admin commands require a user to have admin mode enabled before they have access. This is because timewarp is an admin command, and on a random server you would not be an admin. Tooltip debug mode shows information such as IDs for provinces, states, etc when you hover over them on the map. For more help using the console and cheat commands, see our basics guide. If you were to join a random server and attempt to run the command /timewarp 60 (the timewarp command moves time forward) nothing would happen. If your keyboard layout doesnt have that key, other hotkeys to open the console are SHIFT + 2 and SHIFT + 3. In that command, the arguments would be 'eyesword' and '2'. Without these arguments, the command wouldn't know what item and what amount to give you.Īrguments are separated by spaces, so to use the spawnitem command to spawn, say, 2 Oculus Reavers (which has an item ID of 'eyesword'), you'd use the command /spawnitem eyesword 2. You may see the word "argument" being mentioned a lot on our commands list - an argument is simply a parameter, or extra piece of information you give to a command so that the game knows what to do.įor example, the spawnitem command's syntax is /spawnitem - in this example, and are arguments. After doing so, you will be sent a message with some information including your username and whether or not you're an admin. To open the chat, press ENTER on your keyboard, then type /whoami in chat and hit ENTER again. This paragraph takes you through the /whoami command as an example. All commands start with a / (forward slash). Unlike other games, Starbound doesn't have a console to type commands into - all you have to do is type them into chat.
